Daily Activity Communications: Part 2 – Department Heads

This article introduces using Department Daily Activity Reports and discusses how they may benefit your growing company.

If you have multiple teams under your lead, congratulations! Your business is expanding to new heights. However, with growth, it’s only natural to feel slightly removed from your team, as gaps in communication start to become more frequent with each new addition. In order to help maintain communication— as well as stay involved with staff and their projects– BIG has developed a Department Daily Activity Report for upper-level management to complete at the end of each workday.

The template provided below is meant to be used in tandem with the Daily Activity Communication Form in Part 1 of our series. It is a quick summary of each employee’s day, what they accomplished, areas of concern, and additional comments to be sent to the department head’s CEO or Founding Members. Not only does this keep you up to date, but it also allows you to make sure that your work culture is being exemplified by your department heads, identifying any issues that need to be addressed. It encourages a more hands-on approach to keeping accountability in the workplace while encouraging open, honest communication that goes both ways.
