This article explains the value in taking meeting notes and introduces a downloadable template to set you up for successful notetaking during a meeting.
Picture yourself after finishing a great meeting that just took place. You’re feeling relieved, like you have more understanding of what took place, and like a resolution was reached. You may be thinking to yourself “now THAT was a successful meeting”. Unfortunately, we don’t always leave a meeting with those feelings or thoughts – I know I’ve been there before, more times than I’d like to admit. The panic sets in as I think “What exactly did we just go over?”, “I can’t remember if there was something specific I needed to do following this”, or “what if I missed something important?” We know that we can’t go back in time to correct this, which usually means having to have a follow-up meeting, or going over someone else’s meeting notes to try and fill in the blanks.
So, how can we make sure that we are taking in all the information we need from a meeting? We have developed a Meeting Notes template to help ensure you are leaving those BIG meetings with all the information you need!
